Trip to the ER

Saturday night, we put Caden down to bed around 8:00. He kept getting up out of bed. About 8:45 he came and told us that the tip of his little toy light had "disappeared in his nose." I had his lay back, and sure enough, there it was. Scott tried to get it out with tweezers, but had no luck. Off to the emergency room they went. I stayed home with Hannah, who was sound asleep in bed. It took several attempts by the doctor to remove it. He can be quite a fighter. They had to burrito wrap him in a blanket and Scott held his head. He now has several bruises on his face and arms from everyone trying to immobilize him. Hopefully he has now learned his lesson and will not put things in his nose again.

Update on Us

I have been horrible about doing our blog. So here is an update on us for the last few months. Time goes by so quickly, I can't believe it has been 2 months since Hannah's Birthday.

Hannah is learning to walk. She is not quite there, but she is at least trying now. If she falls, she will get back up and try again. She is still much quicker at crawling, so if she wants to go somewhere fast, she always gets down and crawls. She gets so excited when Scott gets home from work. Caden has always gone to the door when he hears the garage door open, but now Hannah has started to do it too. It is so cute, and it makes Scott's day having his kids greet him at the door with big smiles.

Caden is getting big also. I have started to look for preschools so that I can have him in one for the fall. He loves to play with Hannah. He is so good with her, most of the time:). They have started to play together more and more, and I love watching them.

We had Scott's parents come visit in January, and then his dad came back for his work a few weeks later. Caden loved having them here. He had so much fun with them. It was good to see them.

Hannah Turns One!!!

Hannah had her 1st birthday yesterday. It is hard to believe she is that old. She isn't walking yet, but she is getting close. Whenever we have her try, she gets too excited and falls forward. She has been sick for the last few days, so she doesn't look very happy in most of her pictures. I posted the ones she looks the best in. Right after we were done, she took a nap.

She loved her gifts. Caden did too. Grandma and Grandpa Willmore gave her a ball toy and some clothes. Caden won't let her play with her ball toy, he calls it his "machine." Grandpa John and Grandma Darcy gave her a baby doll and some clothes. Scott and I gave her a princess riding toy, and Caden gave her an elmo phone. Aunt Kimberly made her some hats for the cold weather.

Snowman Building

Caden has been so excited to build a snowman recently. We don't get snow here very often, but it snowed yesterday. Last night Caden and Scott went out and built a snowman. Scott had so shovel the driveway and get snow from our neighbors lawn so that they had enough snow. Caden was so proud of his snowman. Afterwards, Caden came in for some hot chocolate, he changed into shorts! He is crazy, he would wear shorts all the time if I let him.

Thanksgiving

Sorry, I don't have any pictures to post right now, but I thought I would let everyone know about our Thanksgiving. We were able to spend Thanksgiving with family this year, we haven't done so in 3 years. Even though it wasn't our immediate family, it was nice to have family. We went over to Scott's Aunt Pam's house for breakfast. All of her kids and grandkids were there. Caden had so much fun playing with the other kids. Hannah was tired and cried for awhile until Scott was able to get her to sleep. We played games and visited with each other. We had a good time. For dinner we went to Scott's Aunt Kathy's house. She had made a big dinner for all of her friends. We had a good time there as well.

That weekend Scott's aunt met his parents in Boise and they picked up our Christmas presents from all of our family in Utah. It already looks like Christmas at our house. We have so many presents under our tree. I told Scott that we don't need to do any shopping for our kids, everyone else did it for us :).

My Kids

I am so thankful for my wonderful kids. They are so much fun. They grow up so fast. Hannah is now almost 11 months. She crawls all over and pulls herself up onto everything. She is such a sweetheart. She loves Caden. She follows him around "like a puppy dog", as Scott says. Caden loves his sister too. He usually wakes up in the morning before her, and as soon as he hears her up he runs into her room to see her. Then they give silly smiles and laugh at each other. I am so blessed to have such greats kids. I am so grateful to be able to stay home with them and see them grow. Playing with Caden's toys, she loves them.

Halloween

I know, I am a little late posting this. I just downloaded all of the pictures. Well, we had a fun Halloween. Caden went as Buzz Lightyear, and Hannah was a butterfly. We went trunk-or-treating at our church on Halloween. Caden got so much candy, and he loved it. We let Hannah have some candy as well. Caden is already talking about what he wants to be for Halloween next year. I don't think he knows how far away it really is.

We have a pass to Portland Children's Museum. They had a party for all members the Monday before Halloween. Caden was so excited to wear his costume. They had lots of fun.

Scott's Mom Visits

This week we had Scott's mom , Darcy, in town. She flew in Wednesday evening so that she could attend Scott's swearing in ceremony with the Oregon State Bar. It was Thursday in Salem, Oregon. It took us an hour to get there and the ceremony didn't even last half an hour. But now Scott is officially an attorney. It was good to see Darcy, the only bad thing is that my entire family was sick with colds. Caden got sick last Sunday, I got the cold the following Tuesday, Hannah was Wednesday, and Scott got it Friday. After a lot of rest this weekend, I think we are all better now. We had a good visit despite the colds. Caden was very excited to have company at our house. He loves when we have visitors. We played games and went out to eat(which is a treat because we don't go out very often). It was fun.

HE PASSED!!!!!!!!

We just found out that Scott has passed the Oregon Bar Exam. I am so proud of him. The kids and I left to Utah all summer so he could concentrate on studying and it payed off. He is such a hard worker, and I appreciate all he does for us. Congratulations honey!! He also took the Washington Bar Exam this summer, but those result don't come out for another month.

Our Outings

This weekend Scott and I went on a date to walk along the Columbia River. We don't go out often enough, but one of my friends called and offered to watch our kids for us. It was great!(Thanks Brenda) They have a nice pathway that goes along the river, or you can walk along the beach. We decided the kids would enjoy this so we took them the next day. Caden loved throwing rocks and picking up stick. He LOVES sticks lately. He has to pick them up all the time. Hannah just loves being outside, so she enjoyed it.

Two weekends ago we went to the Portland Saturday Market. They have tons of street vendors with homemade things to sell. We just walked around and looked at everything. It was cool to see. After that we went on a picnic and then to the Portland Children's Museum. Caden loved it. They had so many different things for him to do. It was fun for us to play with him and watch him have fun. Hiking Wahkeena Falls

Last weekend Scott really wanted to go on a hike. Along the Columbia River Gorge there are some waterfalls. It was only about 40 minutes from our house. It was beautiful. We took a trail up Wahkeena Falls, it was about 3/4 of a mile or so. Caden walked almost the entire way up. We told him if he walked at every switchback we would give him some more trail mix. He did awesome. He wanted to be carried on the way back down, which Scott did. Caden now weighs about 40 pounds, so he isn't the easiest thing to carry. I carried Hannah, she is only about 16 pounds. We walked that trail and then we went over to Multnomah Falls, which is actually the waterfall we intended to hike when we left our house that morning. We just walked up to the view bridge there because our kids were tired, and I had forgotten my tennis shoes at home so I was hiking in flip-flops. It was beautiful though. We have so many pretty places to go and see here in the Pacific Northwest. We are excited to be able to go and explore this beautiful area.

Update On Us...

Scott has put me in charge of the blog since he is done with school and now working. He said he no longer has time and it is up to me to keep the blog up to date. As you can tell I haven't been very good so far. I will do better now that I understand how this thing works.

We have had a crazy last couple of months. Scott graduated May 10th. It is wonderful to be finshed with school. We moved to Vancouver, Washington mid May. Scott had a busy summer studying for the Washington and Oregon Bar exams.

The kids and I went to Utah for the summer so we wouldn't be in Scott's way while he studied. We had lots of fun. We went to our family cabin in Idaho. We went camping with our family. It was good to have the kids spend time with their grandparents and cousins. They don't get enough time with that because we live so far away. We also were able to see some of our friends while we where there. My little brother got married while we were there. I was so glad to be able to be at his wedding.

I got a JOB!

After a couple of rather stressful and uneasy months without knowing what was happening in the future, I have been offered an Associate Attorney position at a law firm in Portland, Oregon. The law firm, Smith Freed, & Eberhard (http://www.smithfreed.com/) works in the area of insurance defense. I will be focusing most of my labor (indeed, most of my life) working on defending personal injury claims. I'm really excited for this job, it will allow me to hone my litigation skills and may even afford an opportunity to get into court performing arbitrations and maybe even actual trial. The office is on the top floor (43rd) of the second highest skyscraper in Portland and has amazing views of Mt. Hood, Mt. St. Helens, all the rivers and bridges, and an unobstructed views of downtown Portland. It's literally breathtaking thinking about it.

As many of you know, I was born in Vancouver, Washington, just across the river from Portland. I am so excited to be going back there, it's beautiful and so green. I'm so excited I can't hardly believe everything is now happening so quickly. I am anxious to get there and to begin my new career and to begin our new life in Portland (although we will probably be living in Vancouver--at least for a little while).

Going Private

Hey everybody. After thinking about it for a while we are going to make our blog private on April 12th. We really didn't want to go private but felt it was probably time with all of the wierdos out there.

Happy Easter

I figured it was about time to add a post, since my last one was nothing but the bearer of bad news (along those lines, it is official, I will not be in the Air Force). Today is Easter, a day dedicated to the rememberance of our Savior and to His resurrection. Aside from the gratitude I feel for these glorious blessings in my life, Easter symbolizes to me an opportunity for a new beginning, an occasion to reflect upon where we are and where we wish to one day be. Let this be the beginning of the rest of our lives.


After church today, we sat down with the kids to take some pictures in their new Easter clothes. Caden was a little reluctant to say the least (with 1:00 church he doesn't get a Sunday nap). Okay, actually he was downright onrey and had to be bribed with candy. Hannah was in a rediculously good mood and Caden couldn't help but cheer up when his sister started laughing and giggling while he held her. Anyway, I got some of the best pictures:
